Itinerary
DAY 1
Sunday, February 8 – Arriving in Casablanca
Our first stop sets the tone for the entire journey. We begin at the Beth-El Synagogue, one of Casablanca’s most cherished Jewish landmarks. Known for its majestic stained-glass windows and graceful design, Beth-El is more than a synagogue—it’s a living testament to Morocco’s once-flourishing Jewish community. Here, stories of resilience, tradition, and identity echo through every detail, inviting us to reflect and connect.
From there, prepare to be awe-inspired as we visit the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. Rising proudly at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, its soaring minaret pierces the sky while the sound of waves crashes against its foundations. Walking through its intricately tiled halls, you’ll feel the profound beauty of Morocco’s Islamic artistry—a moment of spiritual serenity, whether you’re gazing outward to the sea or upward to the heavens.
As the sun sets, we gather for our welcome dinner at a hand-picked restaurant in the heart of Casablanca. Surrounded by Moroccan flavors and lively conversation, we’ll toast to the beginning of a journey that promises to be as soulful as it is unforgettable.
We conclude our first day by settling into the luxurious Sofitel Rabat Jardin des Roses*** (or similar), where lush gardens and refined comfort provide the perfect setting to rest and recharge for the adventure ahead.

DAY 2
Monday, February 9 – Rabat – Meknes – Fes
Upon arrival in the old city, we’ll dive straight into Meknes’ atmospheric medina and market streets. Unlike the bustling tourist hubs of Fes or Marrakech, Meknes’ markets have an authenticity that feels like stepping back in time. Here, every corner reveals a treasure—colorful mounds of spices, baskets of glistening olives, handmade pottery, finely woven textiles, and supple leather goods crafted with centuries-old techniques. A highlight is the Souk Sebbat, alive with traditional fabrics and clothing, where patterns and colors practically sing.
Next, we’ll walk through the city’s most iconic imperial sites.
- Stand before Bab Mansour, Morocco’s grandest city gate, an awe-inspiring entrance decorated with intricate tilework and inscriptions.
- Wander across Place El Hedim, the lively main square, where history and daily life blend seamlessly.
- Step into the serene Mausoleum of Moulay Ismaïl, a rare site open to non-Muslim visitors, where artistry and reverence create an unforgettable atmosphere.
We’ll pause for a memorable lunch in a traditional riad or restaurant, where the flavors of Meknes meet breathtaking views of the old city from the terrace. A perfect moment to savor Morocco not just through its sights, but through its tastes.
Before departing, we’ll ascend to a rooftop café overlooking the medina, where we’ll sip fresh mint tea and indulge in delicate Moroccan pastries while taking in panoramic views of the city below.
Our final exploration in Meknes brings us to the Jewish Quarter (Mellah), dating back to the 17th century. Here, we’ll uncover the layered stories of the city’s once-thriving Jewish community through its distinctive architecture, synagogues, and the traditions that shaped life within these walls. This is a chance to walk in the footsteps of a community that left an indelible mark on Meknes’ history and spirit.
As the day winds down, we’ll travel onward to the legendary city of Fes, where we’ll check into the Marriott Fes Hotel** (or similar). A warm dinner and restful overnight stay await us, preparing us for tomorrow’s discoveries in one of Morocco’s most soulful cities.

DAY 3
Tuesday, February 10 – Exploring Fes
We begin in the Jewish Quarter (Mellah), stepping into centuries of history preserved in its winding streets and unique architecture. At the Ibn Danan Synagogue, one of Morocco’s oldest, we’ll discover the stories of devotion and resilience that echo through its hallowed walls. Nearby, the Jewish cemetery awaits—a place of reflection and remembrance. Here we’ll learn about Lala Sulika, the revered Jewish martyr whose life and legacy remain an integral part of Morocco’s Jewish memory. Her story, filled with courage and sacrifice, will move and inspire us.
Next, prepare to roll up your sleeves and dive into a hands-on calligraphy workshop. Guided by a local master, we’ll explore the beauty of both Arabic and Hebrew script, practicing delicate strokes that have carried sacred texts, poetry, and history across generations. This intimate workshop connects us to Morocco’s artistic heritage in a profoundly personal way—and you’ll even take home your own crafted piece as a keepsake.
We continue to the Burj Sud (Southern Tower), an elevated fortress offering sweeping, cinematic views of Fes’ sprawling medina and the landscapes that cradle the city. With the sun lighting up the labyrinth of rooftops and minarets, this is a moment for unforgettable photos and quiet awe.
Our journey then takes us to the Al-Attarine Madrasa, a jewel of Moroccan architecture with intricate mosaics and exquisite woodwork. Every detail tells a story of devotion and artistry. From there, we step into the legacy of knowledge at the University of Al Quaraouiyine, recognized as the world’s oldest continuously operating educational institution. Here we’ll explore not just the architecture, but also its profound role in shaping Islamic and global scholarship for over a millennium.
No visit to Fes would be complete without diving into its vibrant souks and alleys. As we wander through the medina, every turn brings new wonders: the scent of cumin and saffron, the glow of brass lanterns, the bold hues of hand-woven carpets, and the delicate patterns of Moroccan pottery. It’s a feast for the senses—and a chance to bring home treasures that carry the spirit of Fes.
After a day rich with discovery, we slow down and surrender to the soothing ritual of a traditional Hammam spa experience. The warmth of the steam, the gentle exfoliation, and the deep relaxation of the massage (to whom will choose to have one…) will leave us not only refreshed but fully immersed in Moroccan culture. This is more than wellness—it’s a centuries-old tradition of cleansing body and spirit.
As evening falls, we gather for dinner at a local restaurant. Our meal is accompanied by the soul-stirring sounds of Andalusian music, a perfect harmony of history and artistry to close the day.

DAY 4
Wednesday, February 11 – Fes – Atlas Mountains – Ouzoud Waterfalls - Marrakech
Our journey begins with a drive through the lush cedar forests of Ifrane, often called “Little Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine charm. As we wind along these peaceful roads, keep your eyes open—you may spot playful Barbary Macaques swinging from branches or lounging in the trees. It’s a magical glimpse of Morocco’s wildlife in its natural home.
We continue to the breathtaking Ouzoud Waterfalls, a natural wonder that tumbles dramatically over 100 meters, creating rainbows in its mist and echoing through the green valleys below. Surrounded by olive groves and rugged cliffs, this is one of Morocco’s most awe-inspiring landscapes—a perfect moment to pause and take it all in.
For those ready for adventure, we’ll board rowboats at the base of the falls, drifting right up to the thunderous cascades. The spray of cool mist, the roar of the water, and the sheer power of the falls make this an exhilarating, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
After soaking in this natural wonder, we’ll continue our long but scenic drive to Marrakech, where the desert meets the mountains in a vibrant mosaic of culture and color.
We’ll arrive in Marrakech in the evening, ready for a warm dinner and a comfortable overnight stay, recharging for the unforgettable discoveries awaiting us in Morocco’s “Red City.”

For lunch, we’ll pause at La Cantine des Gazelles, a lively and modern spot blending Moroccan warmth with Mediterranean freshness. Its relaxed atmosphere and colorful dishes will give us the perfect midday recharge.
In the afternoon, we’ll journey into the Mellah, Marrakech’s historic Jewish Quarter, where echoes of centuries-old life linger in the architecture and narrow streets. Switching into 4x4 Jeeps driven by local experts, we set off along the King’s Road, carving our way through rugged terrain and breathtaking scenery. We’ll ascend the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, perched at 2,150 meters, where the crisp mountain air and sweeping panoramas remind us of Morocco’s wild and untamed beauty.
Hidden in the mountains, we’ll explore the abandoned Galoui Palace in Telouet. Its crumbling walls whisper tales of power and intrigue, while its balconies open onto panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains—a perfect spot for reflection and awe.
Continuing along the caravan route, the landscape shifts—rolling hills give way to distant views of the Sahara Desert, its golden expanse shimmering on the horizon. Along the way, we’ll pause to visit traditional Berber villages, where we’ll glimpse the daily rhythms of the Amazigh people. Their warm hospitality and timeless traditions offer a meaningful connection to Morocco’s indigenous roots.
Finally, we arrive at the Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site that feels like stepping onto a movie set—because it often is! Famous for its earthen architecture and maze-like alleyways, this fortress has been the backdrop for films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. We’ll wander through its mudbrick towers and narrow passages, soaking in its timeless atmosphere and capturing stunning photographs.
By late afternoon, we return to Marrakech, just in time for a deeply special evening. Tonight, we’ll be welcomed into the home of a local Moroccan Jewish family for a traditional Shabbat dinner. Together we’ll share prayers, blessings, and songs, while enjoying home-cooked Moroccan dishes infused with warmth and love. This intimate gathering is more than a meal—it’s a true celebration of heritage, hospitality, and connection.
