Flights & Visas
Travelers are responsible for their own flight arrangements. If you need assistance, please feel free to reach out to us at info@gomayever.com.
Visas:
ETA-IL Visa: The State of Israel has instituted a new visa process: ETA-IL. Learn more here about it and if you are exempt.
Beginning January 2025, visitors to the State of Israel from visa-exempt countries (e.g. the US) are required to obtain an ETA-IL (Electronic Travel Authorization) to enter.
- An approved ETA-IL indicates you are allowed to travel to Israel and stay for up to 90 days per visit.
- An ETA-IL will cost NIS 25 per individual visitor.
- The ETA-IL will be valid for two years or until passport expiration, whichever is shorter.
- ETA-IL authorization permits multiple entries for stays of up to 90 days per visit.
All travelers to Israel must have a valid visa or an ETA-IL approval before they start their journey. Obtaining an ETA-IL is a simple and fast process and completing the online application takes about ten minutes.
- Click here to Apply for an ETA-IL.
- It is the participants’ responsibility to complete and submit the ETA-IL application.
Important note: Israeli passport holders must enter Israel with their Israeli passport. Even if you don't hold an Israeli passport but have at least one Israeli parent, you may still have obligations to the State of Israel that should be resolved before your trip. Failure to do so may result in being obligated to stay in Israel until the issue is resolved, with associated costs being your responsibility. We suggest being careful about this and contacting one of the regional Israeli consulate offices for clarification.
Travel Insurance
We highly encourage all our group members to purchase travel protection. We understand in Canada there is often different coverage available than offered in the USA. Beth Tikvah and Mayever will work to support you as you navigate this decision. We also recommend purchasing a flexible flight ticket to allow for date changes without extra costs and securing comprehensive health and land cost insurance.
WITH ANY PROVIDER, MAKE SURE THEY COVER ISRAEL AS A DESTINATION.
A option, currently offering coverage to Israel in Canada is Allianz. Here you'll find:
- Emergency Medical Plan: Includes coverage for medical emergencies along with valuable travel assistance benefits for Canadian residents.
- Comprehensive: Includes emergency medical, trip cancellation, interruption and delay due to a covered reason, baggage benefits and more for comprehensive protection before and after you depart.
- Trip Cancellation/interruption: Coverage in case your trip needs to be unexpectedly cancelled or interrupted due to a covered reason. (For those who already have medical coverage.)
- Non-Medical Package: Offers protection for before and after you depart including coverage for trip cancellation, interruption and delay due to a covered reason, baggage benefits and more. (inclusive than cancellation interruption)
In addition to a Canadian Provider, you do have access to Mayever’s In-House Land Cost Insurance.

Options for Payment and Fee Minimization
Same options as outlined here, but to minimize fees the best options are as follows:
1. Send a Check in USD or a USD Bank Draft
Payable to: Mayever c/o Phil Cohen
250 West 94th Street, Suite 2H
New York, NY 10025
* send an email to billing@gomayever.com when you send the check
2. Remitly - This company will transfer money with no fee. In fact, the first $1500 Canadian that is sent receives a preferred exchange rate, and the remainder receives an exchange rate that adds about one percent to the transaction, which is typical for Banks (similar to an exchange rate) and there are no additional fees. - www.remitly.com
From our understanding with Remitly
- Debit card (no additional fee)
- Credit card (2% fee)
- Bank account (no additional fee)
The above are examples discussed with the Beth Tikvah and we are aware other options may exists. Feel free to reach out to billing@gomayever.com if you prefer a different option or you need any support. In addition, Ross Sadoff is also available to you too as you navigate your payment options.
